Also, meetings this semester will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, in Enarson 248 (note the new room and time). We can’t wait to see you there!
Hey everybody! We have a couple exciting events coming up in October:
For October 5th‘s meeting, we’ll be having a guest speaker: Cody Starcher of Multivarious Games, a local game development company.
On October 8th and 9th, we’ll be having another game jam! It’ll be taking place in Enarson 258 (right down the hall from our normal meeting space), starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Also, a reminder that GCC will be attending GDEX on Halloween weekend (October 28th-30th). If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, you can sign up here (make sure to mention you’re a part of GCC). Volunteers get a free pass for the remainder of the event!
If you’re interested in volunteering for GDEX (the Ohio Game Dev Expo), follow this link and remember to mention that you’re part of the Game Creation Club at OSU!
As we mentioned in the meeting, you will only need to take a minimum of a 4 hour shift to get a weekend pass for the event. This event is Halloween weekend (October 29-30th) and will have many devs from all over the Midwest and beyond. If we can get 20 volunteers registered, GCC gets a booth at the expo for free, so if you have time Halloween weekend please consider volunteering and helping out the club!
Hi everybody! Our first game jam of the year is taking place this weekend in Hitchcock 446. We’ll be starting at 8a.m. Saturday (9/3) and ending at 6p.m. on Sunday (9/4). We can’t wait to see you there!
Long story short, there’s going to be a Global Game Jam site in Columbus – and just south of campus at that, next to Lennox Town Center. Check it out and please sign up! It will be a lot of fun, and a lot of experience. Then you can post your game in your portfolio and put the game jam on your resume. Lots of friendly faces will be there. Check out the thread in the forums [click here] to start talking about it, see who’s going, find rides, etc!
