Hello everybody! GCC has a new home at org.osu.edu/gamedev! Make sure to check out the new site from now on for updates.
Shirts are now available to anyone who wants one, so if you forgot to reserve one, now’s your chance! They’re $10, and we have all sizes in limited quantities.
If you’re working in a project group and aren’t in your private Discord channel yet, make sure to message an admin so we can set you up.
Our last meeting of the semester is December 6th, and our first meeting of next semester is January 10th. Keep in mind that our meetings will be at a different time (7:30-9:30) and place (the Union) in 2018. If you want to invite a speaker to a meeting or give your own presentation next semester, message an admin on Discord and we can help you schedule it.
Good luck finishing up the semester!
Hi everyone! Hope you had a great summer!
The OSU involvement fair is TODAY (8/20) from 4p.m. to 7p.m. on the Oval (behind Thompson library). We’ll be in the special interest section at table 755. Stop by and see us!
You can now order GCC T-shirts again! The current design, introduced last semester, consists of this logo on a grey shirt. You might have noticed either me or Jun (or perhaps others) looking quite sexy with them on. If you want one (or many), for yourself, fill out this form right here.
The shirts are $6 each. Filling out the form will reserve one of the shirts for you to be sold at the next meeting. If you are not able to attend that meeting, your reservation will still be valid unless we run out of a particular size of shirt and/or you fail to claim the shirt for many weeks.
EDIT: Since this is still the first post, I’ll go ahead and use this space for the first Screenshot Saturday. For the first round, there’s only one screenshot, but hopefully others will join us soon enough. This screeenshot is from Jack’s Run, a platformer from myself, my brother, and others to be released perhaps around the middle of the year. This is the only screenshot available right now (and may be for some time) as the engine is currently undergoing a rewrite.
One thing you may have noticed if you follow a lot of game developers on Twitter (like we do) is that one of the things indies do is Screenshot Saturday, where devs post the latest screenshot(s) of their in-progress games or tech demos. Sound interesting? To participate, post up a screenshot of your game in relevant topic in the new forums and we’ll share it both here on the main page and on Twitter on the next Saturday. So remember, get some screenshots ready of your in-progress games, no matter how far along they are.
