General Rules

1. Players may not use a controller with Turbo capabilities, Wireless capabilities, or a Play and Charge Kit. Controllers with Turbo capabilities allow Players to map a button sequence to the Turbo button. Pressing that button results in their Character performing a set of actions that would normally require the Player to press multiple buttons.
2. Players may not use a controller that has been modified in such a way that it alters their Character’s abilities and/or in-game mechanics. Players may not use a controller that has been modified to include a Turbo button. Players are allowed to make cosmetic changes to their controller, however, Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny the use of any controller suspected of providing an unfair competitive advantage.
3. Players may not use a Wireless headset or a headset that requires power.
4. Players may not raise the volume of a TV above 60. This rule doesn’t apply to the Halo 3 Main Stage, Halo 3 Featured Station, or Players using headphones.
5. Players may not open the Xbox 360’s disc tray, access the Xbox 360’s dashboard, unplug anything from the TV, Xbox 360, or Astro Mixamp, or touch the power outlets.
6. Breaking any of General Rules #1-5 will result in a Warning. If a Player/Coach receives two Warnings, they will be issued a Technical Foul (See Pro Circuit Conduct Rules).
7. Players may use any available USB ports on the Xbox 360 as well as any open plug-ins on the Astro Mixamp and TV.
8. In the case of an Xbox 360/TV malfunction, the Game will be restarted from the beginning unless a Team was winning a Team King or Team Oddball Game by more than the time remaining in the Game.
9. When Players are given the option of using Full-Screen, Teams can use 1-4 TVs.
10. No Warm-Up Games may be played outside of scheduled Warm-Up periods.
11. During scheduled Warm-Up periods, the winning Team can stay, but the losing Team must get up.
12. During scheduled Warm-Up periods, Teams still active in the Event have priority over open Stations.
13. If a Team fails to report to their Station within 5 minutes of the announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. 10 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 3 Game Match or the 2nd Game of their Best of 5 Game Match. 15 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 5 Game Match.

SSBB rules

All Games

  • 3 Stock
  • 8 minute timer
  • Items are set to “off” and “none”
  • No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
  • In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.
  • If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.
  • Metaknight’s Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
  • If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.
  • You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you’re using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
  • Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
  • Stalling is banned – The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.

Set format (In Order of Procedure):

  1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
  2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure

  6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
  7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
