Elections Party

As Jorge mentioned, there will not be a meeting this week. Instead we want to announce a party for next week. The party will be celebrating our newly elected officers which we will be announcing there. We will be ordering food: either pizza or subs. The party will probably be on Tuesday Nov. 24th, but will probably be later than usual… like 8:30pm. This is not confirmed yet, but this is looking like the only time that will work for us to make it happen. The occasion will begin the transition period between our current officers to the newly elected officers, until the full change in offices happens on December 16th, 2009.

ESA (Electronic Software Association) – Thursday Nov. 19th @ 7:00pm in the EA building room 170

ESA has set up a presentation for our group this Thursday at 7:00pm in EA170. The ESA is a large organization that works with many of the big name producers and other companies in the video games industry. They have been fighting and exploring many issues that surround video games and especially those that fit in the political realm. We hope you can make it out to hear them speak on these topics. Some of the officers will be meeting with their representatives beforehand to talk about the Ohio Game Developer Summit that is being planned for April 17th, 2010 in Knowlton Hall. We will be asking of their support for the event and we hope to make a great impression on them with a decent attendance.

Hi Everyone,

Friday is the deadline to vote. Please send your votes to gamecreationclub@yahoo.com .

Here’s a current list of positions and who’s running:

President: Wei-Cheng Tang
Vice-President: Aaron Ryan
Treasurer: Evan Strong
Art Director: Kevin Adams
Technical Director: David Straily
Scribe: Brian Orchosky
Webmaster: Morgan Goose

My understanding is that Technical and Art Director positions will act as mentors to those who want to improve their programming and art skills respectively. In my opinion more accurate titles for these positions would be Art Mentor and Technical Mentor. A person in the scribe position would act as recorder and keep logs of meeting minutes.

If you have any questions for the candidates, (or in general) please post them in the official elections thread in the forum.

Hey this is very late notice I know, but to celebrate such an awesome quarter we been having we’re taking you guys paintballing! The first 5 INVOLVED members to respond to the forum topic HERE will get a free ticket to the park. What I mean by “involved” is that those members come to more then just the first couple GCC meetings, we want to make it fair for those who have been sticking with us for a while.

After that’s it’s $5 to receive a ticket (these tickets are worth $40+, so either way it’s a HUGE deal!). It would also be $5 for any friends you bring (make sure you tell us how many people you want to bring). You will get your tickets from us at the park this Saturday at 10 am (the time the park opens). Park closes at 4 pm, so you have plenty of time to get on all your Halloween shenanigans later that night! For more information check out Splatterpark’s website (http://www.splatterpark.com/)

SIGN-UPS END ON FRIDAY (10/30) AT 10 AM. SO DO THIS ASAP!!!
