SVN/IRC

SVN

Use the following address in your svn client to connect to our svn:
http://gamedev.osu.edu/repos/general

Using an SVN client:

You’ll first need to get an SVN client. Jorge recommends TortoiseSVN. I’ve only used RapidSVN. There are others as well, and you can use really anything you want. The link to our webrepos is only for browsing and downloading; there is no ability to upload to it.
You might have to find other specific tutorials on how to use the SVN client you choose, but here are the basic instructions that is how most clients work:
-first you need to create a new repository. the address is http://gcc.accad.ohio-state.edu/repos/general This will be the location for the time being. Soon we will be restructuring the SVN folders/repos so that we don’t have to create specific repos for every project.
-during the process, you will have to choose a location on your computer where you want to have the files downloaded to and uploaded from.
-next, you will need to add your files to the directory (on your computer) you chose when you created the repo. make sure you put all of your files in a folder with your name_project-name_date in it.
-then, using the client’s interface (tortoise will just be regular windows explorer) right click your folder, click “add”, then right click again and click “commit”

that’s it, you’re done. Once the interface tells you it is done, your project will be uploaded. You can double check by going to the web-interface and browsing to your folder.

SVN Clients:
RapidSVN
TortoiseSVN
or use Subclipse inside of the eclipse IDE.
